Hi Antonio,
That HK is probably worth more in Spain than it is over here as it is likely a Condor Legion gun. I'm sure your guess as to value would be better than mine. Regards, Norm |

What and why the difference between dated or different codes used by Kreighoff. How much did those made in the war years differ, if any from prewar?

The "side marked" Kreighoffs were nomally standard commerical DWM lugers marketed by KH during the Weimar era. I've never seen one with a KH marked toggle assy and a P prefix serial. TH

Gibsons book has much info on these " P codes " and they are also called " commercials " .
Star means it failed inspection and was rejected by the LwA2 inspector . Not unheard of to see this side frame inscription . Probably from 1938 or 1939 assy . |

REF: Star means it failed inspection and was rejected by the LwA2 inspector . ???
Then?? Isn't that a good Krieghoff? I made a bad purchase? cost me 2500 euros in Collector's Book I find it strange that the star's mark means rejected. In Spain precisely in some pistols, the star means the opposite, that is, approved Last edited by CASTELLANO; 03-25-2021 at 06:04 AM. |

I read somewhere that the star mearly means the gun was pulled out of military guns for commercial use~I believe it was Gibson! It is still a valuable commercial Kreighoff luger! Check out this Legacy Kreighoff variations video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEeFlXKkj08

Confirmed in Toms' video star does mean legit made for commercial use! I SENT THIS THREAD TO HIM! Kreighoff is top of the line! The wouldn't approve for sale a defective or substandard luger and market it for sale! They were very proud of their brand and protected it!

Then
mean "rejected"? ... or the star means "approved," ? and commercial weapon, it's something I was already clear about. Last edited by CASTELLANO; 03-26-2021 at 10:26 AM. |

The star is a reject mark .
It does not mean it is a bad HK . It means it did not pass inspection and was put with others that had issues . After the 10,000 contract was filled these were fixed if possible and sold on the commercial market . These generally bring more than common military contract ones as they are much less common . This is all readily available info so why all this muddy water ??? |

What is your serial number? I want to see if it is recorded in our Kreighoff data base. Congrads!

I sent the pictures of his luger to Tom Whiteman at Legacy Arm an expert on Kreighoffs and he responded "This is a commercial Kreighoff. "The star proof was was instead of an Eagle L 2 proof. It will be on the frame of all commercial HKs~https://search.aol.com/aol/video;_yl...91&action=view
