Help with Austrian Pilots Badges
Since it has been a little slow Luger wise and since a lot of you collect German/Swiss Militaria (ie Lugers), I am hoping to get lucky and maybe get some information. This is probably like trying to find a matching number Luger magazine for a specific Luger, but here goes.
I would like any info you can offer on these Austrian Pilots badges, wings and patch. I only have a little info which I believe to be correct. I picked these up a few years back out of the estate of militaria collector who had military badges of all Nations from US Civil War through Viet Nam War. The first grouping of three are Austrian First Republic(1919-1933)? Non-com wings, patch and Pilots Badge. Possibly 1930's on Pilots Badge? Have found same Pilots Badge online, but very little info other than Austrian. I would like confirmation and more info especially about Pilots Badge. The second Gold Wreath Austrian Pilots badge has a totally different Eagle than all the First Republic and earlier Pilots Badges I found. The Eagle is similar in stance to the WWII German Pilot Badge Eagles, but not the same. I Found this online as well but no real info. I believe Austrian maybe 1950's or 1960's or later? I am thinking not during the Anschluss (unification with Germany during WWII) because they would just have German Pilots Badges then, right? Any help or comments appreciated. Mark |
