Post 'New' VoPo Holster 1961

Hi,

Recently purchased this one, quite cheaply, as a holster for military pistol competition purposes.

It's a 1961-stamped New Old Stock VoPo holster that was destined for use with the P08, P38 and Radon pistols of those days.

I like the sideways opening flap, as it makes pistol extraction a bit easier than on the regular pre-war holsters.

Not very collectible, but nice nonetheless. It took some effort to shape it to the pistol, after 30 years in storage (I even doubted that a P08 would fit), but it's actually quite a snug fitting holster.

Hi;

This looks just like a late war "Soft Side" P-38 holster I bought around 1968 for $5.00.

I quess you could make a Luger fit in it, but the pistol would be exposed to a lot of dust and the other elements.

The Bundes Germans also made a holster just like this one in the 60s for their P-1 pistols.
