Luger Flash suppressor
Has anyone seen/have one of these? Made for either 30 cal or 9mm. Clamps securely to muzzle via threaded nut. What would be the value?
Thanks

Are you looking at a cleaning rod guide, or part of a sub-caliber kit?
Without a picture it is hard to answer your question.

I would also wager that it is a cleaning rod guide... not a flash suppressor... or the mount for one...

I am sure, someone post-factory has made some flash suppressors - but what you usually see is the above or the below

M.T.,
You link is not quite right. If one goes to the base link, then accessories, the upper right is the one I suspect. I always thought it was part of a cleaning function myself. Looks like a 10 dollar part to me, but that is just me. |

PIA is incorrect in its identification of this device. This is a bore guide for the cleaning rod. It possesses no design feature which would reduce or eliminate a flash, and merely extends the muzzle by a very short distance...
Here is the corrected URL to see it: http://www.phoenixinvestmentarms.com/AC12flashsupp.htm

I suspect most things Phoenix Investment has listed on their site.

I was trying to help with the link definition, and providing a guess of which part the OP was speaking of.

I think this is one of those myths - and although there is a screw on, on the end, I don't believe it could be used for a suppressor.

I can't read the description in the book, is it a "flash hider" or sound suppressor?
What is the title of the book? Patrice, thanks for posting the pictures.

If I could find a reasonably priced one for my 9mm Luger, I'd buy it and give it ago. I have several registered 9mm suppressors, and could easily get a blank extension threaded for my units. Current ones available on Ebay are for the 7.65MM Luger and P38 only.

You would instantly convert your luger to a single shot pistol; suppressors/silencers don't "silence" anyway- as you no doubt know. It would be a simple job to thread a spare luger barrel, but switching the barrel requires tools. If one wanted a look alike, then a modern suppressor won't do the trick either. JMHO.

I believe Ken Kontos of Ebay's Revshop luger parts or Midwest Firearms is making and selling these. For both the PO8 and P38 and designed to lock onto the front blade sight.
