Bob M,

Unfortunately, the yellow and green is permeatimg the walls, to the point of nausea. The big yellow O's on the back windows of vehicles has become an epidemic. The funny part is the majority of the walking and rolling billboards are transplants. Trying to be natives.

I live in Springfield, where Eugene is considered a foriegn country. And getting more foriegn every day. If the U of O blew up tomorrow. I would consider it a plus.

An example: There is a boulivard that connects Eugene and Springfield.
Until 1959 it was called Country Club road. In 1959, Oregons Centennial year. Springfield re-named our half Centennial Blvd. Eugene retained the Country Club Rd half until a few years ago and then they changed to Centennial Blvd also. 2 years ago there came a big push from Eugene to rename it Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.

Springfield by general consensus, chose to retain the Centennial Blvd
name. In honor of the pioneers who stuggled and died on the Oregon trail, to settle Oregon.

To make a long story short. Springfield is now considered Bigotfield,
Springburg, Springtucky, you name it. If they had their way, we would be required to bow to the west 4 times a day.

Morgan, Thankyou for your sentiments.

Ron

Ron,

I've been where you are, the better half undergoing radiation treatments and the whole lot. I won't be in Reno anyway, but I'll wish we both could have been there and the best for your lady.

Noel,

Thanks for your comments. It's kind of like being locked in hell, is'nt it? Your whole life stops. And revolves around the treatments.

Ron

Add my prayers to the list Ron. The power of prayer is too often underestimated...

Hey Ron,

Eight of us got together for dinner on Thursday night at the Reno gun show..we had a toast to you and for your wife's speedy recovery.

Present were Russ Withem, Tom Beasley, Bob Maddox, Doc Fisher, Ron Wood, Dwight Gruber, Ed Tinker, and me.

Great way to start off the gun show weekend.

You were missed !

Regards,

Pete, Ron showed up Friday afternoon! His wife kicked him out and told him he had a 30 hour reprieve (and get the %$#* from under-foot for 30 hrs)

We went to dinner at the steak house, there were 15 or 16 folks there!!!

Let me see, well, this is easier, here are pictures!! Jan Still, his lovely wife Fran, Doug Coffey, Klaus and his friend that I missed his name, Ron Wood, Ron Smith, Herb, Dwight, Russ, Howard (policelugers) and his lovely wife Sandy, Bob Maddix, James and his lovely wife, Tom B, heck, I think that was everyone! For some reason I didn't take pictures that turned out of the left table!!

.
.
I had a really nice time, first night Russ and I bs'd until 1:30, then he made us get up at 7:15! It was a really good trip, visited with some good friends, traded and bought, saw more guns than last time, a lot of lugers from established dealers, some others, well, Dwight can give a better report, I am a lousy note taker. !!!

Got home two hours ago. The guy with Klaus was his brother. I don't think I got his name. I look like my lobotomy was successful, in that picture.

I had a great time and a great meal. Tom and Ron Wood were a blast to visit with. And Klaus is the most knowledgable and thorough unit mark expert anyone could ever meet. An amazing gentleman!

Doc and Russ were great to visit with too. Doc is a nut.

Bob, if you get to Eugene give me a call. We'll go have a brewski or two.

Ron

Forgot. Jan's after one of my Lugers. Possible Trade in the offing, maybe. And Dwight had a print out of Luger data in every pocket. He's pretty amazing in his own right.

Had a great time! Thanks Guys.

Greatly enjoyed the dinner with all you guys. Sorry my hairless scalp burned into those photos! It was such a revelation and pleasure to see Ron appear "out of nowhere" at the show. You are a great guy and take fantastic pics, but you should have left me out! Hope to see all of you at future shows.
