Another 1 To Study...
Another one to study...$ 9K asking price...that barrel...is it factory-original...??? Serial number is # 58104...
http://www.phoenixinvestmentarms.com/29swissarty.htm The numbers on the barrel shoulder seem a bit uneven (maybe hand stamped, individually) and the "1" seems a bit taller than the surrounding numbers. The stylized font of the "1" on the barrel shoulder does not appear to be similar (it has a little "foot" at the bottom of the number) to the stylized font of the "1" on the left side of the receiver and on top of the rear toggle link...which does not have the "foot"... I would also expect the front sight base to be a little higher to compensate for the longer barrel... Normally a nice M1929 brown Bern would run $ 2000-2700... Does an "artillery" barrel (as the add calls it) tempt one pull out the extra $ 7K...??? The side plate on this one does not seem right either...finish is odd and the shape of the "island" of the side plate seems a bit too fat. Here is a comparison photo of a M1929 luger with side plate from a CH seller's web site : |
