Further to Ad's comments...

I wonder whether public display of certain German uniforms and/or guns would have been particularly "inflammatory" in 1943 Zurich? We need to dramatize the tension and tenuousness of the "no blood spilt in the temple" neutrality, but I wouldn't want to strain credulity with public demonstrations of military symbols that would blatantly violate Swiss protocol...

As part of the Gevena Convention, military personal who were forced to flee to a neutral country such as Switzerland, were interned for the duration of the war and disarmed. Many flyers with damaged aircraft of both sides, chose this option in Switzerland and Sweden during WW2. I would imagine that many of them, did manage to illegally get back into action.

Let's say that this high ranking German officer has previously served on liason duty in Japan. While there he was presented with a beautiful Baby Nambu, which he now carries with great pride.

MAny German soldiers was transported legally trough Sweden during the war.

The was transported mainly by train from the south to their destination in Norway.
