Hi John, My guess is that the frame was from Commercial Luger #15400 and that everything else was numbered to match. 1916 Navy Luger frames are dated on the left frame rail.
Regards, Norm

Norme, as I stated in my previous post, there doesn't appear to be any number stamped on the front of the frame above the trigger guard. Where would commercial Luger #15400 have it's serial number on the frame?

A Commercial Luger with a serial number of 15400 would have been a Model 1900 with a grip safety and no stock lug. In my opinion, the Eagle/2 Krieghoff marking is bogus. This gun is a total fabrication from parts.
P.S. The frame is marked on the front with the serial number, it is just hard to see in the photos.

Default Navy Marked Luger

I emailed seller and asked him to post the serial # on trigger strap.

Default Navy Marked Luger on GB Auction

Seller has posted picture today of serial # on GB auction 436253647. The # looks to me like the original # was 540 and a 1 and 0 were added to make it 15400.
An earlier comment suggested this type of scenario, What do you think?

still having trouble posting correct link, Ron has posted this link correctly

I don't think the gun is worth the asking price. Just my opinion.

Default Navy Marked Luger on GB Auction

Someone paid $1550. Go figure.

This thread should have been in Navy not in Krieghoff forum, my mistake.
