Re: K DATE! WOW-aaaahhhhhhhhh!!!
Forgive me, someone please enlighten me, what is the excitement, value, rarity, whatever in a 'G' date or a 'K' date versus an 'A' date or a 'R' dated Luger? Seriously, this is a mystery to me.

Re: K DATE! WOW-aaaahhhhhhhhh!!!
Herb, Mauser made the first Lugers in 1934 for the military and Hitler was trying to hide the rearming of the German military so he didnt have these made with a chamber date like 1934 but used a "K" code and then in 1935 the next code was a "G" then after that in 1936 he simply didnt care and Mauser went to numbering their Lugers on the chamber with a date stamp. The K dates were pretty rare as not many were made and there are at list 4 subvariations making this a study in collection Lugers within itself. Ks are in short supply so worth is accenuated. Pretty simple economics but it brings out the fakers pretty severely. I am tickled pick to get this one before others in this country get their paws on it and hopefully the numbers, stamps etc will be original and the parts too. Thor
