And why is it you don't take Tom up on one of his reworked offset firing in breech blocks for $25?
Seems it would solve your problem with the original barrel idea. No reason you couldn't make it a repeater either, would take some experimenting with the correct lighter main spring. By the way, the Erma kit(original) does not connect the .22 toggle to the main spring. It has its own springs in the toggle mechanism. IT does recoil as an assembly and then the toggle opens up against the spring, feeds and re-sets. It uses the back of the magazine as an ejector. Hope this helps. I tried to do the same thing with a T 14, but was never able to balance the springs to get full recoil and closing pressure correct. I could have a single shot, but not repeater. Someday I'll work on it again. It was a straight blowback, with the lock removed for .22. |

My micro-machining is pretty crude; best I can do with what I have. A design exercise. A brain teaser. A time waster. An extension of this thread - http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=34872 I am interested in the design. How it functions, How & why. My attempt is crude because I don't have the specialized tooling for a project this small. My machinery is not accurate enough to hold very small tolerances. To paraphrase John Wayne..."It's not all I've got...it's what I've got".

I put a .22 magazine inside the original T 14 shell, using JB weld to hold it in position. It would feed, but like I said, never could balance the springs - some day I'll get inspired and wind some more! |
