Thanks Ron! Here are a few before and after pics of the 1937 S/42 Second Variation Luger. Of course, Hugh's beautiful grip work is evident as well!

Here is a picture of the baby luger before Ted did his artistry to it.

The 1937 S/42 is my pistol.I would like to say what a nice job Thor did.I think he may have encountered more than his share of problems during its restoration.I wish you could see it in person. I know it has been said many times before,Thors restoration work is outstanding.Dave Petrun

Just finished a first variation 1937 S/42 Luger for Ron Berg. I believe this is the fifth "Yemen" Luger that was brought back from Yemen by Robert Berg. I did a couple of Robert and two for Ron and another Black Widow Luger for Louis Berg. I think this is the last of the five Robert got in Yemen.
The last two were 1937 S/42s, the first was a second variation and then this first variation. Both were fitted with new Nill replacement walnut grips and these are very tight fit and nice looking. I forget where Ron got the grips but I know it was like pulling teeth to get them.

Dear Ron, thanks a million for the extreme compliment on the DWM Rust Blue Color. I think it is the highest compliment I have received and it is especially important to me coming from you , an expert in DWM Lugers. thanks so much my friend.

After nearly 14 years (that post was from 2005!) my opinion remains the same now as it was then, you have the DWM color nailed.
Best regards,
Ron
