I too like this kind of information, very interesting to hear what our brothers (and sisters) in other countries do and face different laws than us.

Ed, you like to hear about different and strage gun laws?? The other day I found my BATF pub, State Laws and Published Ordinances-Firearms. Since I hadn't read it, I decided to see what the Utah laws were. There were 3 and 3/4 pages of laws mostly dealing with where you can and cannot carry a weapon and who is prohibited from carry. Since I moved here form California I figured it would be interesting to see what theirs had become. I flipped back to the 'C' section and found a whopping 64 thats SIXTY FOUR pages of weapons laws. I am really glad I moved to a non-police state. I feel sorry for you guys that still live there, you have no freedom, only obedience.

Does Alabama even have any laws? There is no waiting period, no state check, carry permits are issued after a local check done by phone, no background investigation fee, no magazine capacity on handguns, ect. About two miles from me there was an attempted forced home entry about two weeks ago, late night, result: one dead would be burglar, no charges filed, no grand jury, neighborhood is real peaceful. It works.

I read a little MAD upgraded to another one i can't recall right now, same vein, then a brief stunt with Playboy and settled with Penthouse before start adventuring with my first novels. None of my friends have fared so well. Guess there are two secrets to it, first: i'm gifted when it comes to languages (downside is i'm a total idiot when it comes to numbers, see them and my brain goes numb). The other more important secret is that you pick a subject of your interest and pursue it with your best shot, you'll learn a lot while doing it and without noticing or maybe without concentrating so much on the actual effort you make in your quest. As mentioned above, i know plenty of expressions that i've picked along the way. I love them, since most expressions in english come from different lines of thought or images than the ones familiar to me. I'm having a ton of fun with you lot 0-0

Gruss Gott,Ronin! You may have been somewhat off topic (as I remain here),but to have learned "American English" by your own efforts is no SMALL feat!! Most of us "native" speakers have some level of trouble (the spelling, sound etc.) with it.Good luck in your quest for a Luger! There must be some decent ones there. After all, there were a few Germans(and still are) in those parts. Danke sehr, Mark!
Yeah, still can´t figure out what´s the problem with spelling in english. I guess you guys don´t read enough (generally speaking; no names, please), visual memory helps a lot. Words spelled wrong just don´t "feel" right to me. Please don´t miss my next stupid question... |
