Very nice Leon. It was amazing that no one had called him fom such a large audience that Shotgun News has?

Good to have her go to a good home and not somebody else, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Hi Leon.
The capture story was a very nice touch and the photos were quite enjoyable. It's so fascinating to actually hold a piece of history in your hands & to know its heritage. Thanks again!

Hi Ed,

An East German Mauser is a shooter because it has 0% factory original Mauser bluing, even if all the small numbered parts are original to the gun.

Now if you are asking, why this isn't considered a collectable re-work variation, that is probably because it is post-world war II. I'm not aware of any post WWII collectables except the HKs from all-original parts.

Well Jimbo, I agree and disagree.

I wonder if in 10 years East German's will be considered collectable? Primarily because they were refinished by a gov't arsenal?

We'll see
