ok in 1923 dwm *again* began to manufacture commercials picking up where they left off at 73500 going to 96000 when dwm was absorbed by mauser werke (1930). but if kenyon says they picked up in 1923 where they left off at #73500 how could a higher serial 74320 be 6-10 years earlier production? Im sure Im just dazed and confused thanks for any enlightenment

Kenyon's research and data is over 40 years old. His '1920 commercial', '1923 commercial' designations are backwards and confusing.
Jan Still's 'Weimar Lugers' got it right when he renamed them 20 DWM commercial (made in 1920, serial range #75000 - #92000) and then Alphabet DWM commercial starting in 1921.

This quote is from 'Weimar Lugers' It is really quite simple...
(Luger Commercial Serial Range)
"Between 1900 and 1942 a continuous serial range was used for Lugers by DWM, DWM-BKIW and last by Mauser."
