Hi all,
I realize this post is a little old, but I donĂ¢??t know where else to advertize my needs.

I seems like someone should have attempted to compile a single data base so people might go to one location to share this data and or look for their match. Is this it?

I have:
8405, Wood and Nickel. (Erfurt)

I need:
5260, Wood and Nickel. (Erfurt)

Thanks,
Larry

Yes Larry, that is why it is a sticky and there are five pages of information.

Don Hallock has kept a orphan luger list for many years, although I think he has pretty much quit doing it.

Anytime I read "seems like someone should have attempted to compile a single data base so people might go to one location to share this data", I think, GREAT idea, do so...

Welcome to the forum!

Hi Ed,

So you got me thinking of the best way to approach building a data base for mags, then I just did a search on this website for my needed number. As long as people continue to post their needs on this site and leave the appropriate space before or after the searchable number, then we already have the data base.

Default Don H lists

I wonder if Don is no longer maintaining his lists, if he would donate them for the public good - so we could maintain it going forward.

Contact Don at [email protected] for information about his magazine list. One reason why the updates on the list has slowed down is the lack of new spare magazines reported to him.

Don is still producing his list. It seems that he once operated on the "honor system"....He'd send the list, and the recipient would send payment.
Well, it seems that most never sent payment, so he lost out on the deal.

As far as the master list goes, it has over 100 pages of Luger magazine numbers. The list is also a great training device because it lists the magazines in the order they appeared. It also contains acceptance marks and other information.

Don charges $70.00 for the list, which includes mailing costs.

I think that someone who took the time and effort to compile this for the rest of us, and got raked over the coals while trying to be of service, deserves to have a few honest collectors applaud his effort by buying the list.....I know that I'm ordering one after the holidays....

Cheers (and Happy Holidays to all)
Bob.

I got the Luger mag from Don and paid him for it. Once you see it you will understand the amount of work and effort that he put into it. It is a great resource.

Gave him all the info on my orphaned mags, but never found a match for my pistols from his list. One of mine did match another guy's Luger, so Don's system does work. Just got to keep hoping that someday...............

Darn! you have a 1924, I need a 1923. So close yet so far. Just my luck. I'll keep looking and hoping for a 1923.

I have 105 pages of "orphan" Luger magazines. These magazines are owned by collectors within the US and Europe. The idea is to trade a like magazine, or what ever deal you can make with the owner. I will not be the middle man, I only line you up with the owner. This project has been working for over 30 years; a lot of collectors have found a match including myself. If you want a copy of the entire list, the print shop can accomodate you.

Mike
I have never stopped updating the master. I just don't send copies anymore unless I'm asked. The "honor system" didn't work well and I don't want to get into that losing situation again. email me at [email protected] and I'll provide all the details.
