Default New Outlook email VIRUS warning

My company computer security just put this out. Thought you all might might like to be aware... and take precautions

Subject: Important! New Virus W32.Mybabypic.Worm


Important: Another Outlook propagating virus has been identified on the Internet. This virus is not inside the corporate network YET!


This virus is covered by the latest virus definitions from Symantec, so please ensure that your virus definition date is 02/27/2001, and if not perform a Live Update.


The virus arrives via e-mail with the subject line "My Babypic" and the attachment "MYBABYPIC.EXE."


As always, delete any mail with attachments that are not business related.

Listed as a Level 1 threat by Norton AntiVirus (Symantec)

Default Thank you John...

your input on the virus is appreciated, and as these occur with frightening regularity, PC users would be wise to take your advice to heart. While I do not want to rain on anyone's parade, in the same vein, because these happen so often we could dedicate a whole section just to this off topic.


I do not feel that systems info has any place on this forum outside of our trying to aid members with problems they may be experiencing in their use of this forum. So I would appreciate keeping this type of posting to a minimum.


As John suggests folks... it's a scarey world out there, make sure you're practicing "safe computing".
