Luger ID
I'm trying to find out what year/model a 9mm luger with a 4" barrel was made. The serial no. is three digit and is stamped on the bottom of the barrel and front of the receiver. There is a crown with an N under it stamped horizontal on the toggle and the top of the toggle marked with a DWM.There is an vertical crown has an N under it stamped on the left side of the receiver. The last two digits of the serial appears on most of the other pieces except the magazine which is stamped P-08. The safety has "GESICHERT" and the word German is not on the gun. There is additional what looks like a circle with two little tales opposite one an other located under the serial no.of the receiver. The gun appears to have never been fired and the blue 95%. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thank you

1920 commercial
Your gun sounds like a 1920 commecial..made up of new/used parts for sale outside of Germany after WW-1.
Most are 7,65 cal. Most also have a barrel slightly shorter than 100mm when measured to the face of the bolt. The circle with two tails is probably the letter suffix which is part of the serial number. Could be an 'o' in German script. The gun is extremely common and brings the least $$ but is a collectible item in it's own right. Orv Reichert |
