Default shell holder question 7.62 Luger

Just got a set of CH dies for the .30 luger and my Lyman 9mm shell hold will not accept the rim on the Winchester Western cases. Any ideas. TIA David.

David, RCBS shows the same shell holder for the 9mm and 7.65mm (.30 Cal) Lugers. Also, the 9mm front end is just a blown out 7.65 to get rid of the bottle neck, the rear end didn't change. You might try an RCBS, if it fits your press. I can't imagine the WW cases are that much different. Good Luck.

David, check the cases to see if the hang up is because the extractor groove is not deep enough, or if the rim is to thick. Then you will know where to apply your small file to the shellholder so that it will accept the cases.

RCBS should use the same shellholder for 9mm and 7.65mm. I have loaded many over the years and used RCBS equipment.

The RCBS shell holder is #16 for both cals.
