Mauser Swiss Police
Friends,
I have an unusual Swiss gun that I would like to share with the membership. It is a small banner Mauser, 4" barrel, Crown U proofed piece, Sn 1591V, a number that falls in Costanzo's list of Swiss guns. I have never seen another like it and it has the standard type Swiss holster, except it is black and made for a 4" P-08. I purchased the piece for a good deal of money several years ago from a very well known COLLECTOR who thought it may have been used by the Basel Police. He acquired it from a GI who brought it back from W.W.II. Does anyone on the Forum have knowledge of this particular contract? I do know the V block small banners were the source of the GNR pistols as well as the Siamese contract guns... Any thoughts? Tom A, who should stick to Navy guns! <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |
