Erma .22 conversion kit
Hi all
Do anyone here have experience of the .22 lr Erma conversion kits, both the originals and the old. I got one ( new manufacture) home for a customer and the funktion of it is lousy at the best. The parts seems to be of fairly high quality with to little time spent on polishing but otherwise fine. The mag looks terrible, and is not near the original .22 mags. DO anyone here have any experience, anyone who have one that works OK? Regards HÃ?Â¥kan http://www.vapensmedjan.com |

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
Hi HÃ?Â¥kan,
I have one of the post war ERMA kits. The only problem I have with the kit is that it is not functional with all Lugers, but that's more a Luger problem than a problem with the kit. All the hand finishing that went into the production of Lugers means that there will be dimensional difference between individual Lugers. My kit works quite well with a 1918 DWM and a 1938 Mauser, but not with a 1936 Mauser. I've only tried it with those three pistols. In two out of three it worked flawlessly. In the third it was simply non-functional. Interestingly enough, the 1918 and 1936 are all matching pistols, while the 1938 is assembled from a matching frame and a matching cannon that do not match each other. Just my experience, offered entirely FWIW.... Best regards, Kyrie |

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
Hakan,
I have one of these Erma conversion units. It comes in a cardboard box. I've never installed it in any of my Lugers. I don't know if this is an early or a late kit. Maybe you or one of the other gentlemen on the Forum can help answer my question. many thanx....Bob Sp. |

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
The ones that I have seen new comes in a wooden case.
THe most suspsios of all is the mag that really looks extremely crappy. The mags 1" lower portion is made out of plastic and the rear portion is a glued piece of sheetmetal. THe orignal mag looks very well made thoug, Regards HÃ?Â¥kan http://www.vapensmedjan.com |

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
I purchased an erma marked conversion kit recently,
but it was missing the firing pin. Anyone know where I could find one? Tom Heller suggested SARCO, (SE2 unit?), but the company emailed back to say NA. What are these "new" kits that Hakan is speaking of? |

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
Both the old and the new is manufactured by erma.
There is differances in the construction so I assume ½ou have to know if yo have a new manufacture or a war manufacture to find the parts. The New manufacture is sold by Frankonia JAGD in germany at very low prices, probably less than 200 USD. Regards H¥kan http://www.vapensmedjan.com |

HAkan,I'm going to send you some pictures of my Erma Conversaion Unit. I'm going to send it to your e-mail address. I don't know how to send it to the Luger Forum Disussion Board. The magazine on my unit is very made, no plastic, no glued sheet metal. please let me know what you think many thanx....Bob Spitzer

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
On my wood boxed unit, the .22 cal clip gets stuck in the gun. The firing works well though.

Re: Erma .22 conversion kit
Steve,
I installed by Erma unit on my 1938 S-42, which is a mixed numbered shooter. Complete recycling action was excellent, mag. drops right out. Maybe you can tell me, this Eram unit has been in my possession for 25+ years, in the cardboard box, any thought if this is an early or late unit. Many thanx.....Bob |
