New guy with P.O8
This is my one and only Luger. I got it at a farm auction down here in the Ozarks and nobody else wanted it. The pictures are not so good so I'll put down what is on the gun. The serial # is 1317N and all visible parts are numbered 17. The barrel has 1317 and 8.83, something to do with lans and grooves? Straight winged eagle w/655 on right side of receiver. Grips have 17 on inside. The mag is aluminum and is marked 1026 G + and an eagle with 63. My questions are.....is this a shooter or collector. I got it home and fired off a clip, it shoots very well. What kind of magazine do I need to get to make it the same era as the gun. What kind of holster would be correct for this piece, I have seen black, brown etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to a show tomorrow and now am really looking for my second Luger.

Bill welcome to the forum. to post one at a time, use the ADD REPLY, not the quick reply. If you used add reply and the pictures don't show, they are over 200 kilobytes. to post numerous photos, first ensure they are under 200 kb's, then use the upper right Upload Photo's, you must copy and paste EACH url it gives you otherwise, where the hell does the first copy go when you copy the 2nd, it gets over written...
I am guessing your luger is marked on the top, probably what 1940 or?? And has S/42 or 42 on it? Those are kinda important things to tell us Ed

I can't get my pictures to come up on this thread. The pictures showed the top of the gun so I just gave the information that were blurred in the pictures. It is a BYF 41 with walnut grips. I thought I had the picture thing on there when I summited the post. I won't be doing this again until I figure out how to send pictures. Thanks anyway.

Bill how big are the pictures? Right click and see what the size of them is?
Also, are they a jpg or a gif file? Anything else and it is either too big or won't post here. if they are over 200 kb's, you can send them to me and I'll post OR I'll send them back to you and you can post as practice, [email protected] |

Bill, nice looking 41 byf!! However, the serial number is 1317p, not 1317n!!! The right leg of the "N" is the same length as the left leg!!!
