.......Just noticed on the other board that this gun is in Don Maus' database with other P.A.L. marked guns (Polizeiamt Leipzig?) - Saxon police.

Nice police marking on your Luger I have a 98/05 reworked bayonet that is marked: P.A.L.II.313 with matching scabbard. The regular Saxon police unit mark usually reads; S.P.L.xxx. I have a cut down Saxon police sword made into a bayonet and that is the unit marking on the crossguard. Dan Maus has done a lot more research on police unit marking then anyone I know and if says the P.A.L. police mark is Saxon, then it must be. Thay may have changed the initial marking from P.A.L. to S.P.L.
