Favorite gun other than a Luger?
Curious what people here consider their favorite pistol, not counting the Luger.
I'd have to go with my Series 70 Colt Government Model 45ACP and for just plain fun my Ruger Mark II 5.5" bull barrel. Sure like my S&W 6" Model 19 too. |

It changes with my moods.
I love the 1911 in any of it's many forms. The Browning Hi-Power fits my hand like no other hi-cap pistol. My Thomson Contender in 221FireBall just flat out shoots me. The Ruger MK1 Target is about as fun as it gets. Right now I having fun with some old pocket pistols. Theres a couple of S&W Safety Hammerless pistols in 32S&W, a Victory model with British proofs, a Colt 1903 in 32acp and a Remington model 51 also in 32acp.

My Ruger MKII's has have to be on that list, I have two of them. Both SS Competition models. I have a red dot on one and open sites on the other. I'll use the red dot and cut a target in half. I usually have to burn 300 rounds to do it, but hey its only .22. I also have lots of fun with my C96 and Webley MkVI(45acp, as seen in my Avatar).

My Browning Hi Power, and Ruger MKII BB are my favorites.
I can shoot the Browning all day! I've got an early '60's Llama .32 ACP that my father left me. It was the first pistol I ever shot and I still enjoy shooting it. He also left me a 9mm Glock 17 that I absolutely hate but I can't bring myself to sell. |

Favorite pistols besides my Lugers?
Funny you should ask. Besides the Artillery Luger my favorite for shooting, especially stocked shooting, is a Wartime Commercial C96 Mauser Broomhandle 7.63mm. It's a blast! Not comfortable using the Weimar Police Luger for defense it has to be a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 .45 that I have under my desk.:icon107: As for collecting, until I find the right Navy Luger I seem to be collecting Walthers: P38, PP, P22, P99 (to carry if I ever live somewhere that issues CCW). PPK/S is next. Can't get a P5 in Kalifornia until they drop the drop-test. Here's hoping that the weather in your area is good shooting weather. Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone! God bless our heroes at war. Russell

My most favorite pistol is my Benelli B76 9m/m. It has a grip angle similar to a Luger and the action is even called a toggle action, even though it is nothing at all like a Luger.
An extremely accurate pistol due to the fixed barrel. |
