Is my memory playing tricks?
Hello
I have in front of me a dual date (1916 / 1920) P08 Itâ??s been years since I last handled a luger and I remember the Trigger, safety etc are straw coloured. This P08 they are shiny and brass like. Is my memory playing tricks? I have looked at photos of all kind of lugers and its sort of similar.. This photo is not too far off, xhat do you think? Regards Dave |

Dave,
Welcome to the forum. The Luger in your photo appears to have been refinished. You are correct about the odd color of the take down lever - it looks brass colored rather than straw and too uniform for normal aging. The black color of the bluing is also off. Also note the black magazine button with the checkering worn flat and the obviously brand new grips (with odd checkering on the edge). I could continue but there is nothing wrong with your memory.
