Help with ID of newly aquired 08 please
Hello all,
I have received a new luger and as a newbie I could use some help. I think its a DWM looking at the underside of the barrel it appears to have been reworked at some point (nitro proof on barrel looks suspiciously like a British mark) also seams a previous owner was trying to make it something its not by changing the toggle and re stamping the serial nuber on the mismatched parts. Also the pearl grips will have to go, since I want to put it back to "correct" condition I figure I should ask for some direction. Any help from the experts is appreciated. Please remember folks I am new so please elaborate as much as possible. thanks Mike J |

Mike..Only a time machine could put this one back! It's a mixmaster of different parts. Only so much you can do, change to wood grips and call it a day.
Try to wear it out shooting it...Jerry Burney

Well part of the toggle train is Mauser via the "S/42", and the chamber has an early date stamp. it looks like a real parts gun. lugerholsterrepair is right, I would maybe get some wood grips to maybe make it look less busy and then enjoy it at the range.
