a little show and tell artillery
a little show & tell
I took one of my artilleries and removed the rear sight, then made and blued a mount for ZF/41 scope that I have, which as a long eye relief and then fit it on the artillery. I then bore sighted and adjusted the scope. I did not shoot it because of the age of the scope & I have heard the ZF/41 has a painted reticle. I am retired and so it was a fun thing. I have since put everything back to the original state. I hope to upload pictures correctly. hank678417 |

Great job. I would really like to put a scope on one
of my artillerys. Are there scopes available that would work with your mount? What effect would the weight of the scope and mount have on the cycling of the gun?Would any changes be required? How would firing the gun affect the scope?Would it withstand the recoil? I would like to mount a variable power scope ,maybe 2.5-8. Once again, a fantastic job. Bob |

Hi hank678417,
Nice job! I like too the ZF/41 scope and I have in my collection some special attachements made in Germany around 1970 to fit it with the Artillery model. If you have a look at my web site, and then click on "scope for LP08" you can see the two different solution the Germans introduced to use the ZF/41 with the Artillery after WWII. You can then compare this solution with your. Bob, you can see as weel; there are some pics and details that may interest you. Have fun, Mauro web site:www.lugerlp08.com
