Reblueing
A guy inspected my friends' 06/24 recently and stated a couple things about it.
#1 - He stated that when Swiss Army lugers were privatized they were reblued. He claimed he could tell based on the supposed tool marks on the top surface ahead of the chamber. The 06/24 has a nice overall finish in the 90%+ range but not a high shiny polished black finish he claims it should have like German lugers. #2 - He also claimed he could detect a slight flat spot on the bottom of the trigger guard where someone might have bumped it on to a hard surface. There is no marring of the finish which he claims was reblued before privatization. BTW - The 06/24 is all matching numbers and correct stamps on all metal and also the grips. Feedback is appreciated. |

#1: Most likely incorrect. The truth is that Switzerland had a periodic reworking/overhauling scheme. So many (if not most) Swiss army pistols have been reblued at one time or another.
Privatization was no more than the registration of the pistol being in private hands (and adding the "P" onto the pistol). |
