Another Slow Day.....
Well - it's anothr slow day - so I figured I'd play with taking some pictures again after I returned from the range (WOW - it was COLD this AM!!)
This picture below is a chamber dated 1938 Krieghoff - with some holster wear on the high-spots on the sideplate and muzzle. Straw is VG and grips are brown course checkered (yea, they look like black course-checkered in the picture - it must be the photographer ). The 1938s HK had an estimated production of 50, with 19 recorded serial numbers (up from Mr. Gibson's 17 recorded #'s in his excellent book). This piece is all matching and correct. Anyway - I hope you enjoy... And as well - I'd really like others to post some pictures of their Lugers, as a picture is worth a 1000 words, and fun to shoot either on the range or with a camera - so let's see some others! http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/hk-38-1.jpg |

Re: Another Slow Day.....
John, I have no doubt that with your photographic and computer skills you could make a Luger, that was dragged behind the QE-II look like it just came off the assembly line. Nice picture=>!!

Re: Another Slow Day.....
Well, here's my first attempt at placing a pix (1936 Krieghoff) on the Forum. Hope it succeeds, and that I don't hear barrels of laughter about my photographic abilities (or my computer skills either!)

Re: Another Slow Day.....
Actualy it is a pretty good picture.
From my experience, it has been very hard to get a good picture of a gun and then post it. I end up taking 20 pictures and sending one! Ed |

Re: Nice Krieghoff.!!!
Thanks for the kind words....It's a "1936" dated Krieg. Hopefully, once the kids are finished w/college in a coupla years, I can add one or two more to my fledgling collection. If Santa's listening for his 2002 visit, a 1945 Krieg would be nice.

Re: Another Slow Day.....Bavaria Rural Police Luger
Ted,
Another nice looking job as always. The only thing is that you need to have the dark walnut grips (this is a little inside joke with ted and I; I like the dark grips), HA, HA, HA. Seriously, this is a nice looking Luger. I can imagine that this is what the pistol would have looked like when it left the factory. I wonder how the soldier felt when he he received this pistol and it had never been used? Did he admire the beauty, or was it just a tool to him? Marvin |

Re: Another Slow Day.....Bavaria Rural Police Luger
And . . . she is all mine !! Can't wait to get my hands on her.
I have only seen the picture, but she looks beautiful to me; another product of Thor's Magic Works. I asked Ted to make it look as if it had just shipped from the DWM factory 83 years ago, but I'll bet that it didn't look this good back then. Another point which Ted didn't mention is that, in addition to the "elegant" engraving on the side, someone had taken a hammer to the trigger plate. Looks great now. Thanks, Ted. Luke |

Re: Another Slow Day.....
Greg,
I was just sitting here admiring your Krieghoff when I noticed something unusual. Your picture looks like your gun has a long frame on it. Is that the picture angle or is that what it has? Big Norm |
