Default New guy, new gun, same old questions

Actually not really a new gun. It's my dad's, he brought it back from Europe in '45. I've shot it and stripped it several times over the years, but now I'm interested in any history or value. (Although I would never sell it)

It's a very accurate pistol, btw. Uncanny, really.

At any rate, I'm just curious what some of you more experience guys can tell me about this pistol. It was retrieved from a German POW, and that's about all I know. All of the parts have either a 133 or 33, and I guess that means the numbers match? It's an S/42, made in 1937.

Here's some pics, sorry about the quality, I'm a better shot with bullets than film.

Hi AZ,
1937 Mauser production with matching #'s( as stated ). Looks to be in excellent original condition. The next important part for a serious collector would be the magazine...please take some pics of the mag body and base. Also it would be nice to see the inside of the grips.
Cheers,
Jason

Thanks for the info Jason. The mags are period correct, but the numbers do not match. The grips are wood? and have the number 33 stamped on the inside as well. I'll post some more pics soon.

Thanks again!

Here's another pic with mag.

Any idea what it's worth?

Here's the inside of the grips:

You can clearly see the 33 stamped here, so the grips are original.

These stampings are a little hard to make out:

Thanks for looking! Any ideas on rarity/value? Just for curiosities sake, no need for precise eval.

TIA!
