Need help with Walther PP SA group leader

I have come across a Walther PP SA Gruppe Leader Franken. The only problem is that instead of being marked on the front grip strap, it is marked on the right side of the slide. I do not have any pics, but could that be correct?

David.... Never say never but I have not seen that kind of stamping. Would suggest you post over on the P-38/PPK Forum.

The troops over there really know their stuff on all things Walther........
