The markings signify: weapon number 60 of the machine gun company of the 35th Reserve Infantry regiment. TheLuiger is probably dated before 1916 because after that date the regiments had 3 machine gun companies and were designated as such in the unit markings. You can tell it is from a reserve unit due to the cursive R in the unit marking.

This regiment saw action mostly on the eastern front but came back to the Verdun front in 1917.
