GUN TRANSPORT
Just curious, how do some of you bigger dealers transport your guns for sale to an out of state GUNSHOW. Do you ship them ahead of your arrival to a destination or pack them in the baggage compartment of the plane? What is the aproximate cost of doing this? Just curious.

Re: GUN TRANSPORT
Tim,
Post 9/11, I wouldn't even consider trying to travel commercial air with a bunch of guns. Just isn't worth the hassel and potential trip to the hoosecow courtesey of some over zealous rent-a-cop. First thing to do is get the guns insured by a specialist insurance company-you will find ads in Gun List, Military Trader, etc. Then, carefully pack them and ship UPS next day delivery to you at your destination hotel. By insuring the guns separate from UPS insurance, you are not waving a flag to some dishonest UPS employee and are still covered for loss less deductable. I have done this several times and it works well as long as your destination hotel cooperates and has a secure storage place. Call in advance to coordinate on this. hope this helps, Tom |
