Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot
Wow!
Just got back from my first time attending the Big Sandy Machine Gun shoot in AZ. As the kids at work would say"It was off the chain!" The night shoot was particularly entertaining. At last,a creditable substitute for the now discontinued SOF conventions I used to enjoy. Where any of you esteemed gentleman on this forum in attendance? Bob

Hello Bob ! I've been to the Big Sandy 3 times, including last weekend. I was there as part of the Fire Crew setting out the Dynamite, Tannerite and fireworks. Did you see the radio-controlled airplane that was loaded with Tannerite explode when hit? This recent event seemed a litttle shy on attendance by shooters and spectators alike. Did you see the helicopter that flew in over the mountain from the south directly over the range on Friday night during the shooting? He was probably having a post traumatic flashback 'cause he sure peeled off in a hurry seeing all those tracers. See you in October. Best Regards ! Joe P.S. my photos are from the '09 October show.

Hello Joe
You must have been one of the gents driving around in the WW2 Jeep with the mounted Ma Deuce? I did hear the shoot was a little sparsely attended this year. Probably a combination of the economy and the Tea Party rally in nearby Searchlight NV. Great job on the exploding target planes. It was really fun watching the whole firing line open up on them. Nothing like that over here in the P.R.K. See you later this year! Here is a pic of MG42's,to keep this thread about German guns! Bob
