Post war Interarms/ Mauser.
Did Interarms/Mauser make a 9mm luger with a 6" barrel, American Eagle stamp and a grip safety?

FNorm, is this a 70's Mauser? I've seen them with grip safety/Swiss frame and P-08 frame (with bump on bottom front of grip)/no grip safety, but never one with both bump and safety.
It happens that this gun is exactly the configuration I'd like to have in my first shooter! David Parker |

Hi,
The standard commercial pistols that Interarms sold always had the grip safety. When Mauser started doing commemoratives, they camoflaged the grip safety on the pistols that didn't originally have it, but they didn't actually remove the safety, just tweaked it to work as a normal P08 style version. |

David,
Vlim is the expert on these, and wrote the book! I bought this as a shooter from one of the commercial dealers. New in box with all the stuff. Made about 1973. I tweaked it some. The sights were way off, shot low and left. Then the grips were sharp and uncomfortable, and I had those re-contoured. I broke one of the mag bottoms, so had them replaced with Alum. bases. It groups nicely, better than the shooter! Oh, and if you break something LugerDoc has new spare parts! FN Last edited by FNorm; 05-06-2011 at 12:25 PM. Reason: add |

FN, I did purchase all of Interarms new Parabellum parts when they went out of business, but have run out of some of them in the 20 years since. TH

I am in the "search mode" for a Interarms Luger in 9mm, with a 6 in bbl. with the German P-08 grip frame like the one that FNorm showed in the photo above. Let us know how your new toy shoots. I hope to find one in the not too distant future....Congrats. |

I too have been looking for the exact model that FNorm owns. They are difficult to locate and when I do find one, I can go buy an original 1917 artillery rig "complete" for the same price. These are begining to demand big bucks now. Usually I only find the swiss style.
If by chance any member who owns one in excellent condition and would like to trade, I gotta Sig P226SCT NIB.

It's nice to see a thread like this about the 70's Mauser Luger that doesn't have someone bashing them. I have two, a 9MM 4" barrel P-08 (Conventional frame appearance) and a .30 6" barreled one. The 6" one hasn't been fired since new but the 4" one I removed the external grip safety and have been shooting it. I found the grip safety to be unusable, it always hurt my hand while trying to shoot it.

The 2012 "Guns & Ammo" Annual has an article about the Interarms/Mauser Parabellum. Good read.
