When they replaced the barrels, they would receive a crown/N proof. Newly made DDR P08 pistols had the crown/N on barrel and toggle. You often see the Crown/U as well, this is a repair proof. Additional markings are usually a small district (starburst) marking.

i took it to the range today, the original mag had multiple failures, the mecgar had no mag problems but the toggle failed to close fully on every third round or so. fired 48 rounds or so very accurate but i guess i need to replace springs? any good sources?? thanks ken

well i replaced my vopo grips and ordered a wolf spring kit. anything else i should be doing to for the pistol?

What kind of ammunition were you using, SOunds like something Remington would do. Shoot Winchester white, or Buy Sellior and Bellot, this sounds dumb, but is the ejector intact??

i was shooting white box . it seems to eject perfectly just the toggle doent allways go back into battery. if i push down with the heel of my hand it locks and shoots 2-4 more then repeats the malfunction

let me think about this.....the only thing that comes to mind is the mainspring. but as weak as that vould be, it still shouldn't do that.It does it with the MecGar?? I would have to see that.Change out the mainspring, whicj your going to do and go from there. I Know this malfunction sounds familar, I had a lot of Lugers with almost every sort of feeding problem, I got to get my wheels turning going back over the last 25 years....DId you take out the striker, take out the sear, clean all that man, it just seems to me if that timing was off with how that sear catches, that could keep that action up, with the striker not going back correclty into battery. I don't know if this makes sense, let these guys read this answer and they will be sure to tell me if I am way off, or it could be. Like is the striker in the breechblock all clean and everything?? Sounds dumb but that could cause that to bind if that sear is not moving how it should be.

First and for most, your Luger needs to be cleaned very well, and lubed well with a good grease(like TW25b etc) on the rails, and a good oil on the other sliding parts. As above, be sure to clean out the breechblock, and also the extractor and its groove. After a good clean and lube, if still having problems, then new springs are in order.

The only one I know about is Cherokee Pawn on HWY 9. It would be a drive for you, it is located in the no-man's land between Roswell and Alpharetta. They told me they have not had a Luger show up in about 2 years and when they do they have a list of folks they call to sell it.

I just got on their list.

I have found the best place to find Lugers (locally) are the military gun shows.

There is one at the State Fairground in Raleigh, NC this coming weekend.
There is another in July at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta.

Frist, I would try George Anderson.

Then, I would try Scotty Benedict: Pre98 Vintage Militaria and Collectibles

Then, I would try Simpson's: Luger Assessories to see what they have.

Next, put a WTB (wanted to buy) add on this site.

Finally, try ebay but be sure to read this: Luger Grip Fraud first.
If you find something, I know the good folks will give you their opinion on them.
