Hi,
I own this commercial 9 mm luger in the other side of the world (argentina),s/n 27931.In my opinion yr 1906.

as you see, is reblued.6 inches Barrel is not original,I still have the matching original 4 inches one .Excellent shooter.

GESICHERT/GELADEN

all matching except grips,magazine and hand safety.

I will very much appreciate comments of wise people as there are in the forum.

That is a nice looking 1906! I am not a wise person, but I am trying to gain knowledge.

Your 6" barrel has a wide thick flange next to the receiver - In my 5 years here, I have only seen one other like it...Are there any markings on the barrel???

That is a relatively early New Model Parabellum.

According to Sturgis' research, a small number in your serial number block were made from long frame Navy Pistole 1904 components. He indicates that there is a flat milled at the base of the frame and a noticeably flatter rear grip area where the stock lug had been milled away by the factory.

These were originally in .30 Luger. The barrel profile is unusual and is not likely to have been a factory barrel. In some ways the base looks like a later Swiss W&F Luger barrel base.

Good sharp pictures of the base of the frame (the magazine well opening area) and the rear lower shape of the frame would be helpful. Take them in natural shaded light outdoors, and use a tripod and the camera's closeup setting to get sharp focus.

One of the best Luger collections I ever saw was owned by a famous sporting goods store in Buenos Aires, which unfortunately, is now gone. Argentines can own guns with Goverment permits.

I think that you have a very nice looking shooter Luger. I bet that it is very accurate with the longer barrel. I have not seen many(1-2) Luger barrels like the one on your Luger.

to postino: no marks in the barrel,the original 4 inches barrel matches the s/n.

to DavidJayOuden :yes it was loaded but with an empty round just to show the mark GELADEN.

About laws in Argentina,there are not many restrictions if you undergo some tests and you have no police records .You may own every caliber even .50.but semiautomatics.
No automatic weapons are allowed to civilians.

to roof: it is really accurate at middle distance.

to mrerick:I'm currently in Spain,I Will take new photos when returning to Argentina.anyway I will double check my photo set in the PC.
