Default ups vs. usps again

in the last go-round of who's better and faster, i posted that i had a navy purchased from ralph in december stolen by ups, using their next-day delivery, and we had a hard time ever getting our money back, much less the gun......well,,,last week bought two lugers from a man in n.j. and had them shipped ups (again), and, (again) package was destroyed,,,contents lost somewhere around chicago...hey,,,looks to me like ups has more than their fair share of theives on the payroll!!!!!!! usps may be slower, fedex higher......but, at least YOU might get the order,,,,not some damn driver or loader!!!!!!! still waiting to see how much trouble we're gonna have getting a settlement THIS time.....

Although it has not been with firearms, I am about one-for-five with UPS, including them delivering an expensive video production compouter card to a totally bogus signiture at an unknown address which they couldn't trace later. I will -never-, -ever- ship by UPS again.

Sorry gentlemen. I am getting in on the middle of this discussion. I have been busy on a business project and am currently taking a break from doing my income tax.So excuse me if I'm not up to date on this thread.

I have used UPS a lot and have not had any problems outside of getting a hard time from the counterman at UPS who appeared to not like guns. But I am on the verge of purchasing a very rare and expensive Luger and I want to mail it to an expert for verification so your discussion concerns me. Meer money will not replace this gun. So time is not of the essence. Safety and legality is.

My question is "Is it legal to mail a gun via USPS?". There are a lot of negative thoughts expressed here about UPS but what about FEDEX?

A few years back a rifle was shipped to me via UPS. Since they found nobody at home they left it in the bushes. (For once I got luckey, no rain, the neighbor's dog didn't pee on it.)
