The Russians captured thousands of Lugers during WWII. After East Germany was formed, the Russians issued many of these Lugers to the Volkspolizei (Peoples Police). Hence the term "Vopo", meaning an East German Police Luger.

These were imported into the U.S. beginning in the 80's. They usually have "electro penciled" force matched, and mixed parts. They will also have various and sundry markings. The average price is under $1000.00 for most. $700.00 to $800.00 + on average depending on condition and markings.
