Firing pin spring retainer is kaput
Hola.
Went to the range tonight with 50 rnds of Wolf 115 gr FMJ's. Out of 45 rnds fired, all but 3 failed to recock the pistol. I'm guessing the wolfs are a little on the wimpy side. So, I just recocked manually after each shot and I still enjoyed myself until my firing pin spring retainer decided it had had enough. That bastard little nub on the retainer that holds it locked into the breechblock broke off. So I'll be doing some parts shopping I s'pose. I might replace the pin and get a spring kit too just for good measure. Can anyone suggest any commonly replaced parts I might want to add to this order for just in case situations? Terrapin- |

Wolf 115 grain round nose ammo works fine in my 1936 shooter. Sorry you have a problem. I'm sure someone will offer you the needed part.

Terrapin,
Tom Heller of this Forum may have the part you need. Look in the Links & Resources section for his e-mail address and number. Tom may be able to assisit in the other common parts you want to keep on hand. I do keep an extra firing pin, a pair of repro grips for shooting, main toggle link pin, and a set of springs. Marvin |

An extra extractor & ejector are also handy parts to have on hand, if you are doing your own repairs. I do have plenty of firing pin spring retainers in stock @$15 for exc originals or $10 for new Mauser Parabellums. Tom h

Re: Firing pin spring retainer is kaput
Sorry about the above post. Terrapin, the broken lug on the retainer sounds symptomatic of the blown primer as well as the other damage...it just took some more shots for it to completley let go. I still cain't figure out how a fluted FP would have allowed this....but I'm no expert. I agree with the suggestions you have received for handy spare parts. Best of luck.
