Re: barrels
Rick, Ibelievemthat any bbls other than 4, 6 or 8" would be custom made as those are the only ones I am aware of that are available commercialy.

Rick, what type 8" barrel are you looking for?
a tapered one, or just straight bull barrel?
I know a couple of places that can fabricate what you are looking for and they are reasonable. Let me know your requirements so I know who to recommend. -John |

Here's some help...
Try email to these two guys who are custom gunsmiths that seem to work for reasonable prices.
The first is Kurt Wala: [email protected] who is located in Florida. The second is Tom Liemon: [email protected] who is located in Washington State. Both of these guys are pretty busy gunsmiths, but both do excellent work as what I consider reasonable prices. Give them a detailed description of what you want and ask them for a quote for the raw barrel, as well as installed in your receiver, and finishing if you desire. Since the upper receiver/toggle combination is not considered the firearm, you will be able to mail it to them for the work. -John |

Another possibility
You could also get one of the new 8" Artillery barrels from either SARCO or Gun Parts Corp, and have the sight base turned off of it to match the rest of the barrel taper to get the barrel you are looking for. They are expensive, $225-229 but are readily available if you can't wait for a custom made barrel and they already have the front sight base you want.
