Default 29 DWM Commercial

How common/uncommon are these, especially in 7.65mm P? I have a Police model and was thinking I need a commercial to go with it.

Dwight Gruber's commercial database (http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=31901) should answer your question.

Don, I had looked through the database before posting this question. The 30 cal's are so scattered throughout it is hard to tell how many were produced. Obviously far fewer numbers than the 9mm. So it is apparent that there were not that many made, almost like "hey, were gonna make a few 30 calibers today and tomorrow so we can confuse these pesky collectors 80-90 years from now". (Dwight, thanks for the hard work on the database).

Basically they are DWM's in the s,t,u and possibly early v range with commercial proofs, with or without retailer marks, with or without "Germany" stamped frames, hidden serial numbers, etc..
Take a look at Dwight's database and you'll get the picture. My 29 DWM police started out as a commercial but was apparently diverted to the police since it has serial numbers both hidden and exposed. Hope this helps.

Mauser took over production in 1930. These DWM army, police and commercials were the last and I would assume this is how they became known as '29 DWM's rather than their former designation as Mauser 1933 Sneaks. Rather confusing isn't it?
