Double unit marked Erfurt
Hello forum members! What will be thoughts on this marking found on Erfurt P.08.
S.C.I. 2. 17 S.Ka.I. 113 My only guess that "S" stands for Sächsische or Sanitats, but what about the rest of markings? Your help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance, Alexander Last edited by photo-war; 05-31-2015 at 08:03 AM. |

Alexander:
Don't believe that the "S" stands for Sächisiche or Sanitats. Rather, believe these markings are consistent with the Prussian Police (Schutzpolizei) Markings, 1922 Instruction. Think the first marking that was "x-out" indicates this Luger was from the Kassel Municipal Police District (#23). Your Luger later came under the control of the Köslin Municipal Police District (#6), waffe number 113. Hopefully, others will respond confirming/correcting my interpretation and/or adding additional information. You have a handsome piece of history, congrats. Ron |

I made this same reply on your other thread on this Luger:
Pretty cool pistol. The S.C. is the Schupo of Cassel, the S.Ka. is the Schupo of Kassel(after spelling of the town name changed!). Very neat transition on one piece. If you decide not to get it, let me know. I have another Luger property number 113, I could start a sub-really speciality collection if I had two! |
