It looks like a nice original in very nice shape. If the price is right, I would buy it.

There is leather cut away from the front of the holster above the loop hardware that the locking flap slides into. It's deeper than it should be.

With the cut it is a non collectible. If cheap enough a good holster to carry a P38 in. Bill

Don you were spot on! I asked the seller about the stiching and the cut front...here is his response
John, The closure flap doesn't lift off at all from the body of the holster. The stitching appears to be missing but I can't even get separation in that area. I think you're correct that the holster has been cut though. I never even noticed that at first. Let me know what you decide to do, given this new information.
