Grip Markings
I have seen grips with the holes before. Usually they are repos or original with holes made for holding during re-checkering. I saw somewhere else photos of a similar pair and, they were thought to be possible post war VOPO/East German.
These have what looks like a VOPO X cross-out mark on the right grip, while the left grip has Eagle/N proofs, which I think are commercial Mauser proofs. The checkering apears finer than typical Masuer luger grips. They fit a VOPO marked Mauser frame that came with it and some other parts. The frame is serial V series. Let me know if you think they are original or repos with fake stamps. |

Triple eagle stamp makes my spidey sense tingle, as does the shape of the area around the safety lever at the top of the left grip. If I'm not mistaken, Military grips were usually 18 lines per inch and the early or commercial grips were generally 20 lpi. I'll claim no huge expertise, but would question at least these aspects of them. I would personally avoid them unless real cheap, for a shooter. Let's see what others say.

Eric, you have some of the nicest Luger's in your collection. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was incredibly jealous.
