I bought it in 1957. A mint 41 byf Mauser with a near mint holster and two magazines. I paid $35 in installments that took most of the summer to pay off. I traded it off for a really nice octagon barrel 1892 Winchester around 1963, which I subsequently traded off for a near perfect 1908 Commercial Luger in 1964 and kept going from there.

Default My Favorite!

Although I don't have one, and have only held a few.. I believe the DWM 1908 Commercial is the best, and nicest looking, Luger ever! Just think, huge German military contract coming round, 8 years to perfect their craft, all master craftsmen with hand skills we can only dream about? The 1908's I have seen were perfectly square! Perfectly finished! Not a bad seam or crooked part on the gun, anywhere?... Soon as I win the Powerball lottery, I'll contract Eugene to make a bunch! .... Best to all, til...lat'r....GT

Neat site but what does that have to do with favorite Lugers?
