NEW! MODERN LUGER IN CASE
My new 6 inch 9mm luger has arrived from AIMCO, Inc. For those who missed my earlier postings, this gun is manufactured in stainless steel by the former supplier for Mitchell and Stoeger. I purchased the gun in the Impreglon matte black finish (see more below), which is the new, high-tech finish developed by the oil industry. The gun looks great, has a wood-bottom magazine and American Eagles on the barrel and magazine bottom! Yes, the case is plastic with foam liner, but that goes with being made in 2001.
It was really something to look at the pristine gun with no wear on any parts, and lovely, fresh grips. I am in the three-day waiting period now (pant, pant!). I had made arrangements for the gun to have the small parts "strawed," but apparently this information did not make it to the finishers, and the gun is solid black, including the magazine. I'll see if they will fix this.. AIMCO has changed their telephone number. current information is as follows: AIMCO, INC (Armas Intl. Mfg. Co., Inc.) 5123 Gulfton Houston, Texas 77081 Phone: (713) 661-9301 FAX: (713) 661-5411 Regarding the Impreglon finish: IMPREGLON 218 (HIGH PERFORMANCE METAL TREATMENT)FEATURES: Ultra low friction/Self-lubricating Corrosion inhibiting properties Acceptable for sour gas service Handles bearing loads in excess of 50,000psi Service temperature: -426°F to 550°F Anti-stick/Anti-scaling Lubricatively wettable Film thickness: (0.5 - 1.0) mils |

AIMCO has responsibly and quickly responded that they will fix the error in my order that resulted in getting small parts which were not "strawed." This may delay my getting a good image for posting on the forum. I will keep up the updated postings.
