Baby Borchardt ?

Got bored today watching the boob tube...Dug out my CAW C93, got to thinking what a 'pocket' or 'baby' C93 might look like...

Shortened barrel, grip/magazine reduced by one round...

A Gentleman's pocket pistol, circa 1893...Or a Detective's concealed carry semi-auto...

... ...

...Or a lady's Reticule piece...Or tucked in her garter for her run to the West End to score some Laudanum...

I dunno...There's that enormous egg-shaped mainspring housing to grab with your left hand...and then grip the magazine housing in your right...And the safety is placed exactly under your thumb...Unlike the Luger which has the safety where no man has gone before...

If The Man With No Name was Borchardt equipped and went one-on-one with a Luger equipped villain, both with their handguns stuck in their trouser belts, cocked and locked, then the C93 might well have the advantage...

Maybe we could get Jerry and Gerry to do a shootout, C93 against P08, actual live rounds but shoot at a tin can next to them (or maybe watermelons considering both their ages). Like the James Coburn/switchblade scene in The Magnificent Seven...

the only problem with the trousers' "holster" is the angle of the dangle and the close proximity of the family jewels cabinet........

One of the features Borchardt touted in his patent was the grip angle. He felt it was perfect for shooting.

I've never liked the Luger angle (or Ruger either). The M1911 feels much more natural to me.

Someone should do a study of who thinks Lugers feel more natural versus their height.
