Thats right Johnny, I have slowly popped off my S&W sideplate, it is a tight fit, I see what you mean.

Doubs, haven't shot one of the Mitchel's, but have held one in my hand and they felt good, just like a Luger should. Handloading is the way to go at times, I just got away from it.

Red face

<img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" /> Roadkill & Herb,

I'm sorry to have offended you. Often what is obvious to some of us is not so obvious to the rest of us. Certainly we have enough enemies out there in the anti-gun liberal camp that we don't need to make more among our friends. My most sincere apologies to the both of you. I humbly accept my 30 lashes with a wet noodle.

Looking at the bidding history on the first item posted... It makes you wonder why a person would intentionally bid against themself at a final cost of an additional $60.00

John, for whatever reason, I think they were intent on meeting the reserve price, which appears to be $350.

ESU,

Yes, it is done daily in industry, but.......

...most of the history of some WWII bring backs is what it meant to the US GI returning home. It is his treasure and memory of what was probably the most impressive era of his life. The act of chroming the Luger was to elavate it to a trophy. Destroying this would be destroying the memory of his soul. (IMHO)
