Post Provenance

Hey ya'll, been thinking.(I know, that's not good for me), but is there anyone here who can claim original ownership of either a military or commercial Luger? This includes all models but not post war Mausers or reproductions. If unable to prove such, can you at least determine it has been in your immediate family since initial purchase? Next, are you the veteran who "captured" the gun? Or are you the descendant of the vet and can determine direct link of ownership? And last, did you get the gun from the vet? There is a point to this, will let you know when I figure it out.
