Anyone have a guess as to the unit markings on the brass side plate ? (Sorry, I am away from the books...)

Think they read as " RI 2T. h.w. 68 "...

I too noticed the slight evidence of the Crown/W stamping on the left side of the receiver, ahead of the side plate. Photo may be bad...but it appears to show not much remaining of the stamp.

I did like the remenants of fire-blue remaining on the sear bar, toggle pin, and front sight blade...nice touches for a restored piece.
